Can Terés
Can Terés is a house located in l’Alqueria del Comte, built in a Modernist style with Renaissance influences. It has a basement, ground floor and two upper floors, and as in other buildings of the same style, decoration is concentrated on the windows and main entrance door. In this case, the doorway is made of wood, and decoration is focused on the upper section, where ironwork ornamentation with geometric and vegetal motifs stands out. The upper part of all openings is decorated with a lintel combining geometric and undulating forms, while the balcony and balcony windows are decorated with wrought-iron railings. The house was built in 1916 by Jaume Oliver Mayol, who emigrated to Belfort.
L’Alqueria del Comte takes its name from the 1229 territorial distribution carried out by King Jaume I after the conquest of Mallorca. This area belonged to Gastó de Bearn, Count of Empúries, and remained under his jurisdiction until the 19th century. In l’Alqueria del Comte there are many visible elements linked to water management, very important in the Vall de Sóller, such as the Molí de Can Negre, the spring and irrigation channel of s’Ullet, and the washhouses of Can Bac.
