We are looking at a house built entirely in a colonial style, as its original owner, Antoni Castanyer Anglada, emigrated to Puerto Rico, where he made a fortune exporting coffee, among other activities. However, inside there is a magnificent stained-glass window set in wood, with acid-etched glass, a technique now completely lost, in which the motif was painted with a brush— in this case poppies— using acid that frosted the glass, creating an extraordinary interplay of glazes and shadows.

Did you know:

Around the estate that the promoter of Can Massana, Antoni Castañer, had in Puerto Rico, the town of Castañer was created, which carries his lineage and still endures. Also to remember his stay in the Caribbean country, the owner ordered the coat of arms of the city of San Juan de Puerto Rico to be sculpted on the balcony.
